Play Go against AI.
A quiet board, a real opponent, and room to play at your own pace. Start a free computer game in your browser.
A board that suits your game
Choose 5×5, 7×7, 9×9, 13×13 or the full 19×19 board. Pick your stone color, adjust komi, and add handicap stones. A guest session is enough to start; an account lets you return to your records from another device.
Three computer settings
KataGo powers the computer opponent. Relaxed, Balanced and Focused use different search budgets. These are relative settings, not certified ranks; even Relaxed can be challenging. Computer games never change your rating.
Keep the clock simple
The default is 30 seconds for each move. For an unhurried game, choose no clock. Advanced settings include Japanese byo-yomi, Fischer and Canadian time.
A clear finish
Pass when you are finished. Two consecutive passes start automatic scoring. See territory and dead stones on the final board, download the SGF record, or submit an appeal if the result looks wrong. Computer capacity is shared; at busy times a retry may be needed.
